More information is being put on Ancestry all the time so everytime I use it I find something. Some of the searches could be more specialized instead of having to scroll through pages and pages to find information.

Before computers my mother starting working on our family tree. After I retired I decided I'd pick up her work and see what I could do with it. I have been AMAZED at the opportunity Ancestry.com has given me to see actual documents. Frankly, because my mom could take our family history back to the 1600's from England, I was suspicious it was guess work or opinion. Not so! Now I see the source of the information. I also discovered a genealogy book has been published on one line. That has provided such rich detail.
On a different side of the family I never knew much about, I couldn't remember the names of my ex-in-laws (my son's deceased grandparents). Yes, shame on me, but it's been almost 35 years after all. By searching around, the hints jogged my memory to 'find' the grandparents. But then, the real treat came when I found another family member's tree that went back to the 1600's to Bohemia (current Czeck Republic). What fun I've been having piecing together immigration patterns, occupations, etc. Just imagine the type of person who leaves a home that has been the family center for at least 6 generations, then sets out for a new land. Most of us have come from those roots at some point.
This will give my son, history (and perhaps cousins) he has never known.
